What Do You Want More of In Your Life?

Yesterday I spoke with a client in Fredricksburg and ask them “What do you want more of in your life?”

The husband answered, “Time.”

I then went on to talk about how Things = Time. For example, if you want to keep an extra pillow on your bed, you have to move it when you make the bed, wash it, figure out where to store it when it’s not in use, pick it up from the ground, dust it off, chop it, stage it, fluff it. This would be multiplied by all the days of your life. If you let it go, you are affording all that time back. In a sense, the more we can get rid of, the more time we are giving ourselves.

What do you value? Invest that time, energy and attention there. Then, let go of the rest.

I also gave this personal example from this week. I was offered to work MWF for their family but decided to take the day off on Wednesday to spend that summertime with my kiddos.

To make the decision, I thought of my top values:

Family

Connection

Spark Joy

Enjoying the moment

Rest

I realized if I accepted the job - even if it was “easy and fun money”- I would be sacrificing a few of my values: family, spark joy, and rest. I would rather stick to what’s really important to me, and trust that the provision is already there.

What do you want more of in your life?

What do you want less of in your life?

Keep in mind what really matters, and make time for it today.
